About the West Highland White Terrier Club of Southeast Texas...
The West Highland White Terrier Club of Southeast Texas (“WHWTCSET”) was formed in 1968. Our membership consists of people who show their Westies in companion and performance events such as Conformance, Obedience, Agility and Earthdog, and others who simply enjoy being owned by a Westie.
Nationally recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC), our club hosts a Specialty Show each year in July in conjunction with the Reliant Park World Series of Dog Shows and operates an active Westie Rescue program.
The WHWTCSET is an all-volunteer club whose members donate their time, money, and personal resources toward improving and benefiting the breed as well as the lives of all those who love Westies. We believe that we have a responsibility to protect the breed from exploitation, indiscriminate or irresponsible breeding, and overpopulation by encouraging spaying and/or neutering of pet quality Westies and by requiring that the serious breeders conduct themselves responsibly at all times by incorporating quality and good health in their breeding practices.
