AT THE DOG SHOW

Our March meeting was held at the Houston Farm and Ranch Club on Saturday, March 19, 2005, in conjunction with the Houston Kennel Club show. Members enjoyed watching all of the Westies done up for the ring, had a chance to see many other breeds exhibited, and found some new and special items at the vendor booths. After the Westies showed, we had a short, general meeting and enjoyed a relaxing lunch together. Below are a few photos from the meeting.

Westie/Cairn Education Day

WESTIE/CAIRN

EDUCATION DAY

In April, members were treated to a full day seminar on Westies and Cairns, sponsored by the Houston All-Terrier Club (the "HAT Club").

Distinguished Westie Breeder/Judge Tom Barrie (above) presented a history of and the breed standard for the Westie, and noted Cairn Breeder Floyd Kuntz (below) presented the history and standard for the Cairn Terrier.

Kay L. McGuire, DVM (below), gave an overview of health issues involving both breeds, and our panel of experts answered many questions from the attendees.
