Message from Our President

The WHWTCSET Membership at President Linda Wible's house for our 2012 Fun Day
Hello and Happy New Year to all. We would like to welcome you to our Web site
and hope you take a minute to look over all the Westie information and
pictures. We are pleased to announce that this year the West Highland White Terrier
Club of Southeast Texas (WHWTCSET) is marking its 50th anniversary.
The club would like to express its thanks to our outgoing President, Jennifer Garrison, for all of her efforts over the last two years. She has served this club extremely well and we will continue to draw upon her talents in other capacities. Since we are an all-volunteer organization, it takes a combined effort from a lot of people to make this club work and I know we can count on all of our members again in 2013.
The WHWTCSET is the regionally sanctioned chapter of the West Highland White Terrier Club of America (WHWTCA) and the only AKC recognized Westie Club in the Houston and Southeast Texas area. It is the goal of our club to preserve, protect, promote and improve this breed through education, outreach, mentoring, rescue, and support to breed health research. Many of our members serve in key positions with the WHWTCA.
The club meets on the third Tuesday of the Month at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in the Museum District of Houston adjacent to the Texas Medical Center. We ask that you routinely check this web site for meeting details. Our members support all levels of Westie ownership and participation from just having a loving pet around the house to AKC Champions. Many of our members participate in Agility, Obedience, Conformation, Fun Day, Earth Dog, Canine Good Citizen, Meet the Breed, Westie Rescue and health clinics. Additionally, each July we conduct an AKC sanctioned Specialty Conformation show as part of the Houston Combined at the Reliant Center.
Feel free to contact us or drop by a meeting. We are dedicated to our Westies and would love to have you join us.
